Dr. EV’s Studio
where movement, accessibility, and musical mastery converge
our Journey to Musical Freedom and Expression
Music is more than just sound—it is movement, awareness, and an ever-evolving journey of self-discovery. As a dedicated educator, licensed Body Mapping instructor, accessibility advocate, and musician, I work with students to help them unlock their full potential through mindful movement, technical excellence, and artistic exploration. My teaching studio is a space where students of all abilities can thrive, explore, and develop their own unique musical voice.
Body Mapping: Movement for Effortless Playing
Music is a full-body experience. When a musician’s body map—our brain’s representation of our own anatomy—is accurate, movement becomes more efficient, effective, and free. As a Licensed Body Mapping Educator, I help musicians:
Play with ease and efficiency.
Overcome limitations and prevent injuries.
Enhance musical expression through intentional movement.
Develop a deeper awareness of their body and technique.
Body Mapping is for you if:
You experience pain, fatigue, or tension while playing.
You struggle with performance anxiety.
You want to improve body awareness and movement.
You seek to play with more freedom and confidence.
Whether you are a student, educator, or professional musician, Body Mapping can transform the way you approach your instrument. Contact me to schedule a consultation, lesson, or masterclass.
An Accessible and Inclusive Studio
Accessibility in music education is not a luxury—it is a necessity. As a blind musician and experienced advocate, I specialize in making music education accessible to all students, including those with disabilities. I work with individuals, educators, and institutions to create inclusive learning environments by:
Providing one-on-one mentorship and training for students and teachers.
Consulting with organizations to develop accessibility initiatives.
Offering courses like "Accessibility is Not a Four-Letter Word."
Ensuring music resources and tools are available in accessible formats.
Music is for everyone. If you or your institution want to create a more inclusive space for musicians, let’s work together to make it happen.
Teaching Philosophy: Developing Independent, Thoughtful Musicians
Every student has the potential to succeed, whether pursuing music professionally or as a personal passion. My role as a teacher is to challenge, inspire, and guide students through their musical journey by fostering:
Technical Mastery: Fundamental techniques such as scale work, études, and advanced bowing are emphasized to build confidence and fluency.
Musicality & Interpretation: Students are encouraged to explore and develop their own musical voice while understanding the technical means to achieve their artistic vision.
Kinesthetic Awareness & Injury Prevention: Through Body Mapping, students learn to listen to their bodies, prevent injuries, and enhance performance through mindful movement.
Global and Diverse Musical Perspectives: Exposure to non-standard and global repertoire is a crucial part of a well-rounded musical education. With my background in Western musicology and experience in the contemporary Egyptian music community, I help students broaden their perspectives and embrace new artistic possibilities.
Music is a lifelong journey—one that should be fulfilling, challenging, and rewarding. My goal is to help each student reach a level where they no longer need a teacher because they have developed the skills, awareness, and confidence to guide their own artistic path.
